		<title>WHERE’S MY AIRMAIL?</title>
		<link>http://www.airheads.org/content/view/386/</link>
		<description>
Did you move and not let the Airheads club know? Did you have your mail held while you were away and you were away for more than 60 days? Do you have another residence where you spend part of the year?
The Airmail is sent out at a bulk periodical rate from the mailer on or about the 15th of each month. If you do not receive the issue by the end of the month, there could be a problem with your address in the continental U.S. Deliveries outside the continental U.S. will take longer. Prior to making the labels, the mailer runs the list through verification software provided by the U.S. Postal Service and this catches several address changes each month, but the information takes 60 days to make the next mailing list software update.
Effective with this month’s issue, the non-delivery of a member’s Airmail will not be returned to McLean, VA as the returned costs for each issue has increased dramatically and more increases are expected with the postal service increase on January 24, 2012.
As an active member, what can you do to minimize Airmail delivery problems?
1. If you are moving, please send a notice to membership@airheads.org or by mail to Membership, PO Box 119, McLean, VA 22109 as soon as possible. You can include the date the move will be effective. The post office has postcards to notify publishers of the change.
2. If you will be “temporarily away” from your normal address, the local post office, if notified by you, will hold all mail for 60 days. If you are away any longer, they will only hold first class items and trash any other class of mail. Since the Airmail is sent at a periodical bulk rate, you will not get any more issues after 60 days unless you renew the temporarily away hold before the 60 days are up or return and cancel the hold before the 60 days are up.
3. If you have dual residences (such as summer/winter) the membership team has a procedure to make sure the Airmail will get to you at the proper residence when you are there. Just let us know what months you will be at each residence and the address.
4. If you fail to renew your membership by the end of your expiration month (noted on the address label), the Airmail will stop being sent to you. You would have also received a postcard a month prior alerting you to the ending of your membership.
If any of these situations apply to you, be sure to contact the membership team at Membership, PO Box 119, McLean, VA 22101 or via e-mail to membership@airheads.org so you will not lose any issues of the Airmail. Thank you for your cooperation.
The Membership Team

		<title>Forums and E-mail lists</title>
		<link>http://www.airheads.org/content/view/379/</link>
		<description>
Forums and E-mail lists

Members often ask, Where is the Airheads forum?

While the club does not have a separate forum specifically, there are a couple of places where one can go to seek or share knowledge about airheads.

The first one that comes to mind is the airheads e-mail list. https://www.airheads.org/content/view/21/46/ (https://www.airheads.org/content/view/21/46/)

Another excellent resource is the Boxerworks forum. http://boxerworks.com/forum/ (http://boxerworks.com/forum/) Boxerworks has several sections that include not only our airheads but also older BMW&amp;#39;s, a photo sharing page, a swap meet section, and some general motorcycling info pages. This forum is also populated by many people who know their stuff when it comes to BMW motorcycles. You must register to post but reading is open to all.

A more specific forum is the Adventure Riders http://www.advrider.com/ (http://www.advrider.com/) This is an all brand site but includes a lot of info about GS/ST/GS-PD machines and, as the name implies, adventure riding. Sections of this forum include riding, bikes, and gear. The Hall of Wisdom contains some very useful info on several different makes of machines. You don&amp;#39;t have to register but it helps for searching and posting.

The BMW Motorcycle Owners of America forum is specific to BMW&amp;#39;s. http://www.bmwmoa.org/forum/ (http://www.bmwmoa.org/forum/) Lots of info to be found here in many sections! You may have to register to post but you can read all you want without doing so. BTW, you may want to join the BMWMOA. They have a very nice magazine and sponsor a national rally every year. There are also other membership benefits in which you may be interested.

A couple of states have email lists for items that pertain to club activities in those states. Contact your Airmarshal for information or to encourage the starting of an e-mail list for your state.

I&amp;#39;m sure there are other forums and e-mail lsts that could be included here. I just wanted to share some of those I&amp;#39;m aware of. Please e-mail me at webmaster@airheads.org (mailto:webmaster@airheads.org) if you have a forum or list that you think could be helpful for keeping our old machines on the road or making new friends.

Please note that the ABC does not endorse the information available through any forum or e-mail list and encourages you to verify the advisability of any ideas with a professional before trying them out.

		<description>
The internet has many websites for airhead parts, videos, repair advice, restorations by riders with passions for our bikes, and professional shops specializing in BMW airheads! If you have a video, or know of a video that you would like to share, contact the webmaster (/component/option,com_contact/task,view/contact_id,19058/Itemid,43/) .
