Hi guys and girls!

My buddy in South Africa and I were discussing motorbikes last week. I sent him a photo of my `84 R100RS, and he sent me these pics. All the information he had was that it's a BMW from WWII. His exact words; "I have a friend with the attached in her garage. It is from World War 2, BMW with side car. It was running up to 2012 when her husband passed away and it has just been standing. It is immaculate." He was asking me if I knew anything about this machine. I didn't, but told him I'd ask a few guys that probably do :side:

Thanks in advance,

John

hmmmmmmm. Upon review, I'm not sure those photos are viewable in this forum. Also, I'm no so sure it's actually a BMW. I've also uploaded the pics to this google pictures album: photos.app.goo.gl/xGKrR7ykxe1oWcQL6

Irbit is not in Germany. Russian Iron or Soviet Steeds might be able to give some information.

Looks like a Dneper or whatever they were called; a bunch of 'em showed up the US in the early 80's and people were going on about having WWII motorcycles... nope. Chinese.

Dneprs were made in Kiev while Irbit is the home of Ural. The Chinese bikes were Chang Jiang. Again the Russian bike folk can give a lot more information.
