Hidden Spot for Spare Key Anyone? was created by mjmorrisva
Friends, I'm just getting to know my 82 R100RT. I noticed the small bike key (folded version) isnt really good attached to my usual key chain. Too bulky and heavy against the bike fairing. So I plan to use it with something bright and lightweight like a floating bobber type you see in marine applications. Anyway....that leads me to want to have a hidden spare key on the bike just in case. Considering the risk of it....does anyone have any suggestions for what they do in this regard?

Your thoughts please,
M

put key on backside of frame somewhere and a couple solid loops of black electrical tape. Unless you have a different color frame other than black... :)

Tape inside of side cover. At least I think that is where I put mine.

If I told you where I keep mine, it wouldn't be a secret anymore, would it?

I keep a spare key on a small key ring attached to an inner zipper pull of my riding jacket.
