<p>I'm pretty sure the pinout is the same between 74 and 75-to-77 (the electronic tach was introduced with the 78 model-year, which also had green numbers in the instruments, rather than white).</p>
<p>As far as I know, the only thing specific to the 1974 (first year) instruments are white squares on the speedometer dial (visible on this image plucked out of the internet: <a href="https://tinyurl.com/2mtxmcs5" target="_blank" rel="noopener">https://tinyurl.com/2mtxmcs5</a>). Later model-years did not.</p>

<p>So...is there a difference in the pods between 74, 75 and 76 pods? (other than potential ratio with the speedo)</p>

The electronic tach can be used on any Airhead twin (it only requires the addition of 1 wire), but obviously you need a cable drive to power a cable driven tachometer instrument head.</p>]]></content:encoded>

                        <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>you should be more concerned with getting the correct ratio, the speedo and the rear drive are paired ,   im guessing you have a 37/11 rear drive?  there is a corresponding speedo head for that drive.  Snow bum has a chart online, also note that 74 to 76 pods had cable drive tachs, 77 up are electric tachs .  ask the seller questions, many don't really know what they are selling .</p>]]></content:encoded>
