Kelly Pixton and Gary Jackson have merged the legendary Salton Sea Rendezvous and First Chance – Last Chance Rendezvous to create one epic fall gathering you won’t want to miss!  Join your fellow Airheads Beemer Club members + new and old friends for a weekend of camping, amazing food, campfires, friendship, exploration, and two-wheeled freedom.

What Awaits You

  • 2 nights of camping under brilliant desert skies
  • 5 delicious meals + desserts, beverages, and plenty of good cheer (what rhymes with cheer?).  Gary’s Taco Stand opens on Friday for dinner.  On Saturday there are 3 meals served by Kelly & Kevin, and a hearty breakfast to send you off on Sunday.  Coffee included.
  • Natural hot spring pools—one outdoor at a natural temperature and one indoor at a soothing 90°—with mineral-rich waters enjoyed for centuries
  • Excellent facilities including clean showers and restrooms (bring quarters for the coin-op showers)
  • Perfect riding weather: crisp desert mornings, warm afternoons in the 80s, and star-filled nights in the 50s.  It’s a designated Dark Sky for the astronomy buffs.

Adventures Beyond Camp

  • Borrego Springs (less than an hour away):
    • Marvel at 130+ massive desert metal sculptures
    • Grab a bite or a drink at the lively Carlee’s Saloon or the authentic Mexican hideout Pablito’s.  For culture & cuisine check out Kiesling’s at the Art Institute.
    • Relax in the shade of the grassy lawn of Christmas Circle located right in the center of this small but mighty desert town.
  • Julian: Ride winding mountain roads up to this historic gold rush town, famous for its apple pies, saloons, breweries, and boutique shops.  You may also want to relax with a tasting at the local wineries or cideries.
  • The Salton Sea & Beyond:
    • Experience the quirky charm of Bombay Beach and its iconic Ski Inn or American Legion Hall.  Observe the many art installations that remain from the underground Biennale event held each spring.
    • Venture into the one-of-a-kind counterculture community of Slab City and be sure to spend some time observing the legendary Salvation Mountain.
    • Make a full day of exploring the raw beauty and eccentricities of the desert.  The sun, the sand, the people, the date farms all combine to create a landscape like no other.

Why You’ll Love It

This isn’t just an Airheads Rendezvous, it’s a celebration of camaraderie, community, and adventure. Whether you’re soaking in healing waters, sharing stories around the campfire, carving up empty desert and mountain roads, or exploring quirky desert towns, you’ll take home memories that last a lifetime.

Pack your tent, your swimsuit, your sense of adventure, and of course, your BMW Airhead—because this new Desert Fall Classic is where unforgettable rides meet unforgettable friends.

Want to attend but can’t ride your motorcycle or don’t have one yet?  It’s okay!  The Caravan Area is large enough to accommodate all who want to be there whether on 2 wheels or 4.
