April, 2005… when I hosted my first Tech Day – was onto my 2nd airhead (88′ R100RS); the first had gone to my brother (83′ R100S). Still run the 06′ r1150gs adv I purchased new, but I have greatly missed the old bikes. You are welcome to drop by my home in Wenatchee, WA, as I continue to go through the two airheads I picked up recently. More than adequate tools for: valve adjustments, spark plug changes, carb synch (Twinmax), exhaust fin nut removal (old W. German tool), brake flush, tire changes (Rabaconda dirt bike model, modified HF stand available too, bomber Coats static wheel balancer). Experienced with the above tasks, but the ones I need to perform on both machines (18k, 22k mi), which I am not expert on: would be transmission output shaft spline lube (only did it once on my RS) and Bing carb overhaul. I’d ask that you bring any needed fluids, crush washers, filters (oil/air/fuel), fuel line, spark plugs, etc. There is a great NAPA shop on the north end of town and a reasonable Autozone just several blocks away. We have a nice hazardous material waste site in Chelan Co., so I can handle the old fluids. I’ll plan to host lunch (smoked brauts). Feel free to bring a beverage to share. Although it is not slated to be a hot Saturday, our pool will be open. Thanks go out to my lovely wife Deirdre, for giving me the green light. Please RSVP with number in party, so I can plan lunch.
Looking forward to it,
John
