Purchased from private owner in 2006 with 9,240 miles. One of four R80 G/S's first imported to Abt BMW of Chicago in early 1981, it is a January build. It was first ridden by the owner's son, who fitted it with a 19" front wheel and low front fender and rode it until 1984 when it was sold at retail. I am the third owner. I built this bike for long distance rides, comfort, capacity and reliability. Current mileage is 37,050. History, provenance, upgrades and maintenance records provided to serious inquiries.
