Non-running 1981 R65 for sale. $3000 OBO

Parked it early this year with an electrical gremlin and after deciding to drain oil recently it will need the motor pulled and rebuilt. Fine metal on the drain plug.

The original gremlin was not diagnosed but always cold started strong and would only stop sparking once it got warmed up. Electrical was the only thing I had not looked at before parking it.

Cylinder heads had been rebuilt around 2025. Head gaskets obviously at the same time. Forks rebuilt, headset bearings replaced, front brake lines replaced with steel braided, new master cylinder, new battery, new tires, clutch cable, timing chain and tensioners, conrod bearings, and spark plugs and wires all done since 2023.

Loved the bike but I have not loved all the downtime, the headaches, and expensive parts. Owned it since 2020.

Comes with a few tubs of parts from a parts bike, old motor casing, spare final drive, etc. Must take everything if you are buying the bike.
