Same Girl, Different Clothes 74 R60/6
My 74 R60/6 has lived its entire life in this community, being purchased (along with 9 others) by our local Shriners Club for parades and events. She came adorned with Wixom bags and a Wixon Ranger fairing. Up until a few months ago she wore black, as she has for the last 52 years, but I decided a change was afoot. I stumbled across some curry metallic bodywork that came off a 75 R90. The basic repainted bodyworks was in pretty good shape, except for a few dings, scrapes, bubbles and a horrible clear coat. I stripped and re-clear coated them, all the while repainting and pinstriping a couple of rough (but cheap) Wixom bags, for the originals were in bad shape. She now is wearing some (not perfect) new clothes and looks like a totally different bike.
On a side note, I have been a fan of pedestrian slicers for a few years and I have a few. Since the "new" fender had some damage to it I decided to mount my favorite slicer number plate of all times...a local government plate from St Albans, Herefordshire, UK.
