[#3291]

Hey all!

I just put a deposit, and am arranging transport, of a 1975 R60/6 that's currently located near Erieville, NY.

It's a single owner, female owned, really clean, white bike with a Parabellum Scout fairing with a tall touring screen. Very well maintained with about 250k miles. I'll receive it in August, so as you can imagine, I'm doing a lot of research...

If you are also an MOA member, the listing can be seen here.

Welcome aboard!  My first serious exposure to BMW motorcycles was a college friend with a white R60/5. Made me very curious - a very strange (compared to my Suzuki) but very handsome, well built machine. The seed was planted. That’s a very nice R60 you have found. That’s also some kind of special (police issue, perhaps?) front fender. Someone here in the club will know what that fender is.

Long Beach CA is where I first saw “The Spruce Goose” quite a few years back.  Was working for a company in the Chicago area, assigned to a big project in Pico Rivera. Turns out, it was the development of the B2 stealth bomber by Northrup. Of course, all of that was hidden from us conractors.

Welcome from Georgia !!

Owning an old Airhead is easy.
Keeping an old Airhead running great is the true test.

@4949 Yes - it is a police fender - the original stock fender is also included, along with a full tool roll that apparently has everything to completely dismantle and reassemble the bike, lots of service info, and I think a Haynes as well as original manual.

I have my eye on a lower windshield, and a "Brown's" side-stand as minor changes, and probably remove the hand guards.

If you want to lose the hand guards I might be interested in them. they look like the same one's on my R65 and I broke one.

Well, at least June is here... about 30 days until they return to NY, and a little more than that when the shipper arrivers to pick it up... Sigh...

Went for a decent run up to Crystal lake Cafe and back over GMR today on my '16 R1200R today. And thought about how nice it was going to be to go cruising in late summer on a classic bike like the '75 R60. I think I'm going to have to take it to the Huntington Beach monthly classic bikes and coffee gathering once it gets here...
