I guess we're down to what's available in a 3.25-19 and 4.00-18 as of April 2025. I can't find a set other than the BT-46s.

I just mounted a set of Michelin Road Classics on my '81 R100RT.  3.25B19 out front and a 4.00B18 in back.  I put new Michelin inner tubes in too.

Lots of tire brands make those older "inch" size tires.... the problem is that very few of the tire sellers actually have customers asking for them. I mean really... when was the last time you saw ANY vehicle made in 1980 out driving around ? Certainly nothing made in Japan. Possibly England. BMW Airheads are about the biggest customers, and even they are getting scarce.

Owning an old Airhead is easy.
Keeping an old Airhead running great is the true test.

I just got a Shinko rear for my R65 but I can't get you the model and size before my weekend. Equivalent sizing.

This is no longer the case and hasn't been for several months. My July order for inch-size Avon RR IIs filled the rear oder but not the front. NO ONE has the 3.25x19. Several vendors have suggested these tires may be or have already been discontinued.

Here's an AI generated answer to a search: "Avon Tyres was bought by Nova Motorsport, a private company formed in August 2023, which plans to restart production of Avon tyres. This acquisition occurred after Avon Tyres was closed following its parent company, Cooper Tire & Rubber Co., being purchased by Goodyear."

I gave up on inch size tires for my ‘78 airhead probably 30 years ago at this point. Even at that, the selection of 120/90-18 rear tires has grown more limited over the years. Presently trying my first set of Bridgestone BT46’s.

Good Year's response to my Avon Road Rider query: "Thank you for contacting our web site and for thinking of Goodyear for your tire needs. Unfortunately, the tires you’ve requested is unavailable. Currently, there is no production date for the tire requested."
