Hi, I am pre-fitting my 1965 BMW R69S front forks. Tried to install the top triple tree it does not center over the two ears/bearing stem. I put the bolts in and slowly 1/2 turn at a time drew the top triple tree down, but the bearing stem is not centered and the lower nut will seat through center hole in triple tree. The pivot bolt for the lower forks can be turned in till about 3/16 reaching out the end, then needs a wrench. Forks need to straightened?
