Oak's Top End manual
Good morning, I am in the process of doing a top end job on my 76 R75/6 and would like to know if I can still purchase Okleshen's top end manual. Any leads would be greatly appreciated!
Mail a $ 30 check to Carol Okleshen 22637 Ridgeway Ave., Richton Park, IL 60471.
I ordered a copy last May and received it about 10 days later.
like Euro said. But I got mine in 4 days. I also live about 30 miles north of her.....
Hi I sent my payment to the above address and have not received anything yet. It’s been at least a month since I sent the $30 and I’m getting closer to putting the top end back together. I’m a bit disappointed since many members suggested purchasing that manual and confirmed that it was the right address to send the money too. Anyone know a way to contact the person selling them?
I don't have one in front of me, but I know the info should be in Airmail magazines we get. Not sure if it gives a number or email though.
Did the check get cashed? Maybe it never made it to her or it is just taking a bit long in our wonderful USPS. Or the USPS lost it, which is NOT uncommon.

This person is Oak's widow. Kindly send Carol a nice letter with an SASE and she hopefully will reply.
Me ! ! I'd have sent her $40.

And the end of this story is.... ?????
Owning an old Airhead is easy.
Keeping an old Airhead running great is the true test.
I see it's been a while for this thread, but is Oak's manual still Available? I sent message to Mrs. Okelson per the e-mail references above and have had no response. I fear she may have passed on as well? How do I get my hands on a copy now?
Kevin, if I can get your address, I have an old copy I can send you. I think it’s all stuck in my head now, and I can afford to part with it. Better to pass it on. Was always a fan of Oak, so this would be good. It’s not pristine, but it’s all there. Dave Elkow, Mission, TX. dgelkow at that big G place.
[Mods Added: It's not a good idea to leave your e address on the open web. Especially since Big G just had a security breach. Mods have edited out the provider's name.]

Curious to hear if you were taken up on this offer, and if not, if you'd still be willing to part with the manual. I'm about to start some top end work and wouldn't mind having the manual as a reference. Thanks.
Top End Manual was passed along to the next ABC member in need.
What exactly is this manual for? I've never heard of it
A gentleman by the name of Orlando Okleshen, who went by Oak Okleshen, was a highly respected airhead “guru” going back to the times when the ABC began. He wrote volumes of tech advice and guidance for all of us determined to keep our airheads going after they were out of production. He had a tech question and answer segment in every issue of the club’s Airmail publication. I so enjoyed reading those segments! So many great tips! At some point in the 90’s he published a “Top End Manual” to help DIYers with top end disassembly and reassembly. Back then it was (still is) a valuable source of info for the airhead community, bringing together a lot of his knowledge, tips and tech guidance. Oak passed away in 2017.
Cool! So can we still get it from his widow? Seems like some folks had issues with that. Has anyone made a digital copy?
