This is our regular spot. There is a market, gas station, rooms to rent and sometimes a restaurant. I’ll bring water a few ice chests, coffee, meat for Thursday, Friday and Sunday dinner, eggs and bacon for breakfast Saturday. More details as volunteers emerge.
There is a Park entrance fee Motorcycles $30, cars are $35.
There are currently no large fire threats in Kings Canyon or Sequoia National Park.
I will try to lead a fire roads ride, Saturday to the Kings River, where we may enjoy a dip in the Kings River and a light snack. There is a road bike option to the swimming spot.
The group site is $230 a night, add in the the expenses of food, ice, drink, propane, charcoal, gasoline, trash bags, soap, bathroom supplies. I believe that if everyone paid $20 per night camping and then contributed for the coffee and food that they consumed, it should cover expenses.
Your RSVP helps us plan. Please RSVP, it helps make sure there is food for you and in case we have to relocate, I have your contact info.
Take highway 180 east from Fresno, enter Kings Canyon (fee required), take The Generals Highway ,aka HWY 198 south for about 10 miles. The campground is on the left across the street from the Stony Creek Lodge and gas station, (65569 Generals Hwy).
We usually have about 30 people show.
