Our dear friend and mentor Orlando "Oak" Okleshen has passed to the great beyond. The following messages have been forwarded to me in the last 48 hours. We have lost a giant, and one of the kindest, most accomplished men I have ever had the privilege to meet.

I just got off the phone with Carol, Oak's wife.
Oak was hospitalized recently with multiple problems, and died this morning about 6:30
a.m. He was 84.

Wake Monday, April 10th from 9 a.m. till 11 a.m. at Panozzo Funeral Home, 530 West 14th Street (Lincoln Hwy/US 30), Chicago Heights.
Interment immediately following at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood.

This is about the worst news I have heard lately! I was fascinated by Oak's level of infinite knowledge, from reading his pieces in the ABC news. So sorry to hear of this, prayers for his family.
