Hello all
`Im the proud newest owner of a 1974 R 90 S that`s been sittin for many years indoors. It shows 44k miles and appears complete less battery. I know nuttin about any part of this bike and intend on jus taking my time and playin with it piece by piece. Time is not an issue with regards to working on it but I would like to get it fired up so that I can hear it roar.
I ride a 2015 R 1200 Rt daily so this will be my back up ride. LOL

Tom

Welcome aboard !

Owning an old Airhead is easy.
Keeping an old Airhead running great is the true test.

Hello from Sunny Santa Cruz! In the process of restoring a shortened r100gs back to original ride height. Looks like I just missed a beer night at Moxy, but will make sure I make the next one in Feb.

hi all, I am Simon E also known as GPzPop on some other boards

LONG time rider, just joined this board

my airhead is a 1985 r80rt that long before me had lost its fairing, so naked bike

currently it is one of 3 bikes in my stable

it seems to have been crashed sometime around year 2000, sat for 20 years or so, and was reannimated to life and dmv compliance by me.

I put an aluminum tank on it to avoid the rusty tank issue that previously clogged it up, and away we go.

its my second airhead, previously I rode a pearl white 1983 r100rs, which I foolishly sold to become a down payment on my wife's car.

I look forward to meeting in person to discuss our common passion

Welcome to you both from Newfoundland. R 90 S barn finds are getting a lot harder to find! Congrats.

I only have 7 in my stable, 3 of which are Beemers, 2 airheads. Looking forward to seeing if my battery problem was the voltage regulator later today.
