The trip meter on my R65 LS has decided to give me grief. Initially the push button would stick all the way down and I would have to find something to pull it back out for a reset. Now the button has stuck in position all the way out and does not want to move.

Anyone have any thoughts on a solution? I'd really like to have it back for tracking my mileage.

I messed around with it and a little wiggly action seems to have fixed it, at least for now.

I have a core speedo mechanism from an R65 that you can use to mix/match parts if you'd like.

You have them for the speedo or the trip meter? My only issue is the trip meter, the speedo itself is fine.

The speedo/ odometer/ trip meter is one single "unit".

The tachometer is one single "unit".

These 2 metal framed "units" sit together, under the lighting circuit board, inside the single "gauge set" plastic housing.

Ok, got you. And you're saying you have a replacement unit? The tach is still fine.

I'm saying there's a complete, working R65 speedo unit (80 MPH dial), which has been sitting on my work bench since January 2020. I took it out of a (new to me) RS and replaced it with the correct 120 MPH dial unit. A "unit" for "unit" swap.

It seemed to function correctly except that the readings didn't seem 'spot on', an assumption I ascribed at that time to the difference in final drive ratios. But, critical time and distance verification measurements were not made because there was a known good R100 unit waiting to go in.

Maybe I should get it from you to do a swap on mine?

I could use a 120 unit for my R100, it only has an 80 unit in it now and I regularly go over it. 🙄
